Growing up I’ve always had really bad breakouts and it’s left me with a lot of scarring and dark spots. Tackling cystic acne has always been a struggle of mine. My skin is super oily most days and then once in a blue moon it wants to be extremely dry. I’ve tried everything from Clinique, Proactive, Neutrogena, and any face wash known to man. I was always on the hunt for the perfect product that was fit for my skin. About a year and half ago I was introduced to Rodan+Fields. At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try it because it was so expensive and I had never heard of it before. I did some research and I got 50/50 hits; some people were highly satisfied and others not so much. But I took the chance and did a 60 day trial.
Starting off was difficult because I wasn’t used to having so many steps in my daily skin care routine. In the first couple of weeks I broke out really bad, and it made me not want to continue the use in the product. However, I kept telling myself to stick it out because I wanted to get my money’s worth. As time went on and I increased the usage, I was beginning to see the results I was waiting for!
The Unblemish Regimen comes with 4 products: Step 1 Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash, Step 2 Clarifying Toner, Step 3 Dual Intensive Acne Treatment, Step 4 Oil Control Lotion.
A lot of face washes contain salicylic acid, and I don’t think my skin liked that very much. The sulfur wash isn’t too hard on the skin and it has a nice creamy texture that glides over the skin nicely. It also doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight once it’s dry. The clarifying toner does the job by getting the excess dirt and oil left over after washing your face, and also evens out your skin tone. My dark spots were beginning to disappear and I was getting more comfortable with leaving the house without wearing make-up! The intensive treatment helps by preventing breakouts and pop up spots, and it does its job well. I only use the lotion during the day because it is a little on the heavier side so I didn’t like it sitting on my face over night. I put it on before I put make up on and it keeps keeps the oils on my skin to a minimum.
I do have to say that you have to be consistent and use this product everyday for it to be effective. It is a little pricey, however I would recommend giving it a try before you knock it to the side.
