Scrolling through my feed and seeing other bloggers being nominated for several awards made me get to thinking how on earth am I going to become as huge and successful as they are? How do I even get noticed to be nominated? So I’ve been writing and writing non-stop only to find that I was just creating billions of drafts that I was too scared to post. Then it hit me. You don’t go looking for award nominations, they come to you.
I have been privileged enough to be nominated for The Liebster Award by the lovely Angela who devotes her time and passions to a healthier lifestyle. Her writing inspires how to get the life style you want through choices that will benefit you in the long run! You can check out her blog at thenaturallysmartlife.com
I want to thank her for taking the time and reading my posts as well as giving her an even bigger thank you and a virtual hug for nominating me for my very first award. I will forever be grateful and remember her as I continue to grow not just through my blog but through life too. Thank you Angela!
For those that don’t know, The Liebster Award is a decorated recognition of bloggers by other bloggers. It’s a way that we can expand our blogging circle as well as credit those who deserve to be credited!
There are few things to be done once you’ve been nominated. To accept the award you must:
• Thank the person who nominated you (duh), and include a link to their blog in your post so people can enjoy what you enjoy.
• Display the award in your post.
• Answer the questions provided to you.
• Create more questions for your nominees to answer.
• Write a small post about what makes you passionate about writing.
• Provide 10 random facts about yourself so people can get to know you better.
• Nominate a minimum of 5 or a max of 11 blogs that you feel would enjoy writing about this award.
• List these rules in your post.
• Inform the people/blogs that you nominated.
Angela provided questions for the five of her nominees to answer. For some reason I was having trouble coming up with answers for them but here it goes:)
1 What was the inspiration for your blog?
Being someone tiny, I’ve always felt that I had something important to say or do but I wasn’t exactly sure what that was. I wanted to make sure that I was heard or noticed in some way and not just another face on the subway train. Hence, that’s where 5’2 With an Attitude came from. Turning 20 in February inspired me to be that change I wanted to see. I feel that I’m at a time where I won’t become any more successful if I don’t take the chance to be something great.
2 What is your favorite inspirational quote/quotes?
I have two quotes that mean a great deal to me. In a recent post I wrote about my all time favorite quote by Shakespeare: “Though she be but little, she is fierce.” I feel like this quote reflects me and everything I want to portray about myself. Just because I’m little doesn’t mean I can’t do great things.
My second favorite quote was spoken by Ghandi: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” This quote reminds me that I need to put my best effort in everything I do and that if I want to change something about anything that I need to take initiative and be that change.
3 What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done?
I’m not scared of typical things like heights or the dark. And for me this was the most difficult question to answer out of all of them. But one thing kept coming my mind when I was trying to answer this question. It was the time I had to fly by myself this past December. I’m not sure exactly why this kept coming to mind because I have flown on planes before and it’s not like the flight was long because it was only to Florida… But I think it was “scary” mostly because I was alone… I waited for 2 hours in the airport by myself and then I had to fly next to strangers… I was so overwhelmed..
4 What are some books you think everyone in their twenties should read?
Being that I have not lived through my 20s. I’m going to put a twist on this question. What are some good reads for those going through their 20s? I want you guys to comment below some books you’ve enjoyed and I’ll try to pick some up and let you know what I think of them!
5 What is one major goal you have for the next year?
considering long term, within the next year [or two] I hope to have obtained my degree in biology and continue on my way to becoming a pharmacist. I want to also have saved enough money for a place for Michael and I.
I also am hoping my blogging circle will have expanded and my writing is bigger and better!! I also want to get my youtube channel up and running being that I have edited videos I have yet to upload! Like I said before I just have to take the chance and do it!
6 If you could have coffee with anyone (famous, not famous, alive, dead — anyone!), who would it be?
If I could have coffee with anyone it would be my grandpa. He passed away years ago, and there are many things I don’t do now that I did when he was alive… such as eat cottage cheese. Every morning my grandpa would have a cup of coffee before I would help him take his medicine. We would play this game where he would put a pill under one cup and have two other cups empty. He would move them around and make me guess which cup the pill was under. I would give anything to do that again.
7 What advice would you give to someone what wants to start a blog?
For anyone wanting to start a blog I would tell them to take Shia LaBeouf’s advice and “JUST DO IT!” You’re not going to get noticed unless you put yourself out there.
8 Looking back ten years from now, what do you hope to have done or accomplished?
Ten years from now I hope that I will be settled and comfortable in a nice house and have a stable pharmacist job somewhere. As well as, have a fully furnished and decorated home with nice cars parked outside. (Sounds cliche… I know but isn’t that everyone’s dream?)
9 If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I don’t have a very specific place I dream to live. But if I could live anywhere, I’d want to live somewhere with a lot of land…that’s not too far from the city and maybe somewhere close to a beach? Does somewhere like that even exist?
10 Who is the most famous person that you’ve ever met?
I’ve met a couple famous people from Fetty Wap (in concert) to Dave Bautista (in Kroger) to President Bush (personal visit thanks to my uncle!)…
11 If you received 1 million dollars tomorrow, what would you do with it?
Pay off my credit card debt for sure! Then payoff any student loans I have. Also, pay off the new car I just bought. I’d then give back to those who have given so much to me such as my parents and my boyfriend’s family. I’d then buy myself all the cutest puppies that exist… I wouldn’t want to be selfish with it.. but if I were to use it personally I’d want to buy myself and Michael our dream cars!! I’d most definitely want to donate a good portion to several charities such as the Make a Wish Foundation and the World Wildlife Fund just to name a few that everyone would be familiar with.
